Meet the Speakers

Nicole Maddox

Head of Recruiting, Convoy

Britt is responsible for leading the HR function at Apptio, which she has grown and scaled since joining. Her team’s focus is on finding and recruiting talent with a growth mindset, integrity and grit, which are critical in a fast-paced organization. Prior to joining Apptio, Britt held progressive HR leadership positions at fast-paced technology companies including Avanade, Real Networks, and Microsoft. She has over 15 years of experience leading HR teams in all aspects of the function.

Before joining Outreach in 2017, Rich spent 14.5 years at Amazon leading global recruiting teams.  He was the first recruiter assigned to Amazon Web Services and saw massive domestic and international growth. Rich has grown teams from 10 to over 12,000. He was the founder/creator and leader of SWAT, a team dedicated to identifying, attracting, acquiring and retaining the world's most senior Engineers for every business and geography at Amazon. Before Amazon, Rich recruited for BlueCoat Systems, Teracloud and national consulting firms focused on hiring engineers. Rich has nearly 25 years of experience in the field and has a B.S. in Psychology from Whittier College.

Nicole heads up Recruiting at Convoy, a small upstart in the Freight industry based in Seattle, Washington. She fell into recruiting after graduating with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology from Purdue University, and has managed recruiting at several companies, most notably Livingsocial, Amazon, Redfin, and now Convoy.  Nicole is passionate about technology that has a broad, real-world impact, and loves building teams that are changing the world.  She believes that startups allow a unique opportunity to build an organization with intention, and at Convoy she has chosen to focus on Diversity and using data to drive behavior.  Nicole loves a good spreadsheet, talking about stock, and big derpy dogs.
