Patty McCord

Patty McCord brings the Silicon Valley concepts of fresh ideas and innovation and applies them to rethinking the way we work. She challenges norms and invites us to reconsider the idea of "best practices"

From her many years working with companies that range from very large global tech companies to very small innovative start-ups, Patty saw first-hand how companies can become slow and complacent and employees become cynics and whiners. She spent 14 years at Netflix experimenting with new ways to work. Making the Netflix culture deck become reality for the people who work there. From abolishing performance reviews to challenging the need for policies, Patty believes people come to work as fully formed adults with a desire to make an impact and be proud of what they do; and she's on a mission to spread the word that we can do this differently. She is frequently in the media with interviews and articles from Harvard Business Review, NPR, Fast Company and the Wall Street Journal. She speaks at CEO Forums, Business schools and for large groups around the world.

Meet the Speakers

Beyond a company's corporate brand, an employer brand stems from how job seekers and potential employees perceive your company.

Factors such as company benefits, flexible hours and company culture all weave into a job seeker's decision-making process. Since great people are the foundation of a successful business, building a strong employer brand should be part of every company's talent acquisition strategy.

Join Hired's SVP of People Kelli Dragovich, Stitch Fix's Chief People and Culture Officer, Margo Wheeler and Patty McCord (former Chief People Officer at Netflix) to discuss:

  • What actually is employer brand
  • Intentionally architecting your external brand alongside your internal culture
  • Using this in action to attract and hire the talent you want

Margo and her team create an inspiring and rewarding experience for all Stitch Fix employees through hiring, developing and retaining incredible talent. She is committed to building an environment where every employee can generate the culture and be their best self. She is responsible for extending Stitch Fix's unique company culture to more than 5,000 employees across three corporate offices, four warehouse locations and 10 remote styling hubs throughout the United States. Prior, Margo was Senior Vice President of People Potential at Lululemon Athletica and spent 15 years with Starbucks Coffee Company, where most recently, she was the Vice President of Global Learning. While at Starbucks, Margaret also held leadership roles in partner resources, employer brand, internal talent and strategic sourcing.

Margo has a Bachelor's Degree in Humanistic Studies and English Literature from St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana and a Master's Degree in Anglo Irish Literature from University College in Dublin, Ireland. Margo has spoken at SXSW and The Human Capital Conference.
